Lid@Wim-v6: That is something I would love to do, take a run on the Autobahn. Nice speed there!
My speedometer said 250km/h but the true speed was 221.
We actually had a policeman there with is laser speed trapping equipment, and he couldn’t read some of the cars (specifically the matt black cars).
I wanted to take a longer and better video, but most of the time I was holding on for my dear life. It is really scary when you are passenger and someone else is driving your car at 200 on a corner :)

LidI posted the video onto the wall of the OPC page.
I’ll update to a youtube link when I get home :)

LidThe GTC looks very nice with those wheels. Are they the 17″ ones?
We only get them on the GSi model here (SRI in the UK).

Dat is wel wat minder pk’s als ze aangeven bij opel. :hmmz
Mijn H opc kwam ook al lager uit als dat hij theoretisch moest hebben, maar ik zit nou toch op een nette 275pk en 430N/m op de wielen. :)
That’s some serious power :)
In terms of power upgrades here:
Guys normally go for software remap
Downpipe and exhaust
Intake (CDTI airbox)
Intercooler upgradeWe have pretty bad quality fuel here, so to get some decent power, we usually have to buy a good octane booster.
— My written Dutch isn’t very good, so I will write in English. But I can pretty much understand all the writing :)

LidHi
Sorry to reply in English.
Check the air flow meter, those things tend to break.
You can disconnect the air pipe at the top hat intake and check how much oil is in it. This should give an indication if the turbo is on its way out – as well as if it is smoking white smoke when idling, but not when driving. Some guys in South Africa have done up to 200 000 km on a turbo and it is still fine, and we have a pretty harsh climate in Johannesburg, turbos working overtime.

LidHi
Sorry to write in English, if I understand correctly, you have a hum – almost like a ticking sound – that is synchronised with your revving?
I used to have it too, its is caused by feedback from the high voltage in the spark plugs. Sometimes people say to replace the lines on your spark plugs but you can also buy a device, it is a line filter.
You connect it to the RCA cables and it filters out that ultra-high frequency – should be 10 euro or less.
This is what we have in South Africa – maybe you can find one there?

LidHi
In South Africa we only get the coupe with a z20LET engine.
Some of the guys here who do software on them can get down to 10l/100km combined cycle, and as low as 7l/100km long distance.
Hope this helps :)

Lid@ wessaa
Do you have any plans to tint the windows on your coupe? Looking good! :)

Stunning looking car!! I love the wheels
But what did you do to the hood? Did you ducktape it or…?[/rquote]Thank you :)
There is a protective cover on the front, it is a hard piece of tinted plastic that fits on but does not touch the paint work.
It is for little stones and such that end up damaging the car over time. I found a photo of a close-up.

LidHi All
Haven’t posted here in a while. So I will re-introduce myself.
I am Quentin from South Africa. My mother was born and grew up in NL, mostly Noordwijk, and I have a lot of family there. So I like to think that I am still party Dutch!
I got this 2007 OPC at the start of February, it has been my dream to own one, and now I do. Before this I had a GSI.

LidMy Dutch isn’t good, but I got my fold key from the Opel dealer. Have you considered it or did I mis-understand something in the post?
It was about R840 (80 euro). GM does still produce them.
This is in South Africa though.

LidIt looks super-cool.
I am English, so sorry that I cant write in Dutch, but please don’t feel that you need to write back in English.
My question with this system is the following.
Couldn’t the air that is being pass back into the intake also travel in the opposite direction – through the airflow meter – and toward the air filter.
Could this then cause incorrect readings on the afm and possible over- or underfuel the system?
That would be my only concern. ;)

She drives nicely! In Johannesburg we are almost 2000m above sea level.
I made a small video from the track day… but I think it might be a little boring if you weren’t there :)
Dank je voor het gezellige welkom. :D

LidType back in Dutch, don’t worry with English – I am pretty good with understanding, just not good at writing.
Here are the specifications:
2005 Astra H GSi z20LER (147kW 2.0t).
At a dyno run, before I had the downpipe, I got to 118.9kW at the wheels.
The extras I have are:
downpipe
boost guageI am in the process of fitting a bigger intercooler. I need to get my hands on pipes though.
A few weeks ago I took my car on the race track and it was great!
